The Fine Print:
For the City of Santa Clarita Parks Department classes and Beverly's classes:
All policies put forth by the city shall be followed. In addition the following policies will apply to Parks
Department classes:
- A make-up class may be scheduled for legitimate cancellations due to illness or family emergency.
Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance by calling the instructor. Make-up classes will not be
scheduled for "no-shows" or for cancellations not due to illness or family emergency.
- The cost of the class does not include all materials needed to complete projects. Some materials are
provided but the student is responsible to purchase basic sewing supplies and fabric for projects.
- The student should learn to sew on his/her own sewing machine. If the student does not own a sewing
machine, one of the instructor's machines may be rented. This is a good opportunity to "test drive" a
machine before making the investment in a machine. Note: limited machines are available on a first
come, first served basis. See tips for purchasing a sewing machine.
Private lessons:
- All the items listed under the specific course will be covered during the class. Because people learn and
sew at different rates the hours may vary from 5-8 hours for the complete course. It could even be
more or less but that is an average time.
- Class time will be about 2 hours each meeting time but there is room for flexibility.
- You may choose one of two payment methods - you may pay one half of the course fee on the day of the
first lesson and the remaining half on the third meeting. OR you may choose to pay in full on the day of
the first lesson.
- I will do all I can to be flexible to your schedule but please be mindful that I have a schedule too.
- If you have to miss class for a legitimate reason we will reschedule. Please call me as soon as you know
you will be missing a class.
- If you are a "no show" then it will be at my discretion to reschedule.
- Two "no shows" with no legitimate reason will result in a discontinuation of your class and forfeiture of
your enrollment fee.
- In the case of unforeseen circumstances, you may receive a partial refund if you are unable to continue
with the class. These circumstances will be limited to illness, family emergency, or other mutually
agreed upon reason.
- If you are unsatisfied with the class and wish to drop out you may receive a partial refund for remaining
estimated hours missed.
- Refunds will be calculated at a rate of $30 per hour for estimated time remaining.
My goal is for your success and I will do all I can to help you achieve that goal.
Workshops:
If you would like to have a sewing workshop at your location please follow these guidelines:
- Lessons at the client's location may have an additional transportation fee added to the base fee at the
discretion of the instructor.
- There will be a minimum number of participants required for client's location and this will be determined
by the instructor at the time of reservation.
- Workshop times vary according to the subject/project so the time will be determined by the instructor
with the client.
- Workshops are paid in full on the day of the workshop.
- The cost of the workshop does not include all materials needed to complete projects. Some materials
are provided but the participants are responsible to purchase basic sewing supplies and fabric for
projects.
